Snow Cone Machine

Renting a Snow Cone Machine is a fun food item usually made of compacted shaved ice flavored with a brightly colored flavored syrup, usually fruit-flavored. Snow cone machines are very popular with both kids and adults alike in late Spring and especially during the summer months. Consuming a Snow Cone is a great way to “beat the heat”! . YOU MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN ICE FOR THE SNOW CONE MACHINE

Fun History

In 1934, inventor Ernest Hansen patented the first known “Ice block shaver” in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was inspired to create a more refined and hygenic version of the popular “Italian Ice” sold from push-carts in the city. His wife Mary created many flavors of fresh syrups to flavor his finely shaved artificial “snow”. “Snow balls” have been popular in New Orleans ever since. Hansen continued to sometimes works at the originnal “Hansen’s Sno-Bliz” in Uptown New Orleans through 2005, although his granddaughter has taken over much of the workload. Eventually, “Snow balls” became known as “sno-cones”, and their popularity grew worldwide.

Usually, the snow cones are sold at stadiums, festivals, carnivals, church functions, coliseums, Ice cream vans or by car peddlers at parks.

How to make snow cones

Ours are user friendly & simple

Fill the hopper to within an inch of the top with ice cubes or block ice (no larger than 3″ to 4″). The larger the pieces are, the better the snow.

  1. Switch the motor on.
  2. Pour in your ice.
  3. Push the pusher handle down against the ice in the hopper.
  4. Apply firm and even pressure to make the best snow.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 *Practice will allow you to gauge when to stop pressing. This allows the ice to resettle against the shaver head. You may find that you need to relieve the pressure two or three times in a cycle. Too much pressure will result in snow that is coarse; too little pressure will make the snow mushy. Getting a snow cone machine for your next event is easy. You provide the ice and we provide the snow cone machine dropped off to your location and all the necessary snow cone syrups and snow cone cups needed.
